## Position Overview
**Start:** Executive Assistant (5-10 hours/week)
**Growth Path:** Chief of Staff (Full-time)
**Starting Rate:** $20/hour
**Target Rate:** $35/hour (Chief of Staff level)
**Schedule:** Pacific Time (Los Angeles hours)
**Location:** Remote

This is a unique opportunity to grow with an early-stage food business from operational support to strategic leadership. We're looking for someone with strong analytical foundations who wants to build their career in food/CPG operations.

## Responsibilities

### Phase 1: Executive Assistant (5-10 hrs/week, $20/hr)

**Operations (40%)**
- Supply chain procurement and vendor management
- Inventory forecasting and management
- Coordinate with co-packer and suppliers
- Track production schedules and deliveries

**Accounting & Finance (25%)**
- Invoice generation and tracking
- Payment follow-ups with retailers/distributors
- Expense tracking and bill payment
- Basic financial forecasting support

**Sales & Business Development (20%)**
- Execute outreach campaigns (email/phone) using templates
- Follow up with leads and retail prospects
- Maintain CRM records (retailers, distributors, potential stockists)
- Track sales pipeline and opportunities

**Administration (10%)**
- Calendar management and scheduling
- Research (competitors, markets, suppliers, trends)
- Document organization and management

**Regulatory & Compliance (5%)**
- Apply for certifications (organic, specialty food certifications)
- Submit farmers market applications
- Track permit renewals and deadlines
- Maintain compliance documentation

### Phase 2: Chief of Staff (Full-time, $35/hr)
As you demonstrate capability and business grows:
- Strategic planning and execution
- Cross-functional project management
- Team building and supervision
- P&L analysis and business intelligence
- Retail partnership negotiation support
- Distribution strategy development
- Process optimization and systems implementation

## Required Qualifications

### Education & Background
- **Bachelor's degree in technical field:** Economics, Engineering (Industrial, Food, Chemical), Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative discipline
- Strong preference for candidates from **Colombia** or **the Philippines**

### Experience
- **1-3 years** in operations, supply chain, or business operations
- **Strong preference:** Food industry, CPG, consumer goods, or startup experience
- Experience with inventory management, procurement, or supply chain
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently

### Technical Skills
- **Advanced Excel/Google Sheets:** Pivot tables, formulas, financial modeling
- Experience with operations software (inventory systems, CRMs, project management tools)
- Quick learner with new software and systems
- Comfortable with basic accounting principles

### Communication & Language
- **Perfect written and spoken English** (this is non-negotiable)
- Professional business communication
- Ability to represent the company in external communications
- Clear, proactive communicator
