???? AI-Assisted Motion Designer / Animator — Energy & Home Performance Explainers
?
About Us
EPEX Home Performance (formerly Solar Works Energy) is redefining how homeowners think about comfort, efficiency, and energy independence.
We specialize in solar, roofing, HVAC, battery, and window systems — and we’re building a library of short, visually stunning animations that show how these systems work together.
?
The Role
We’re looking for a creative motion designer who can turn clear direction and storyboards into short, cinematic animations showing energy flow, reflection, and airflow inside and around a home.
You’ll use a mix of 2D/3D tools and AI-assisted platforms (Runway, Pika, Kaiber, etc.) to visualize concepts like solar power generation, cool-roof reflectivity, and smart ventilation.
?
Responsibilities
• Turn provided storyboards and product briefs into finished animations (30–90 seconds each)
• Create realistic but minimalist visuals showing light, heat, and airflow
• Use software such as After Effects, Blender, Cinema 4D, or Runway ML
• Add labels, energy flow lines, and simple text overlays
• Match the Apple/Nest-style visual tone (clean, white backgrounds, soft light)
• Deliver both high-resolution MP4 files and editable project files
• Collaborate via Slack or Notion; provide weekly progress updates
?
Ideal Candidate
• Strong eye for design and motion pacing
• Experience with product or architectural visualization
• Familiar with AI-based animation tools (Runway, Pika, etc.)
• Understands light reflection, heat, or building-science concepts (bonus)
• Comfortable taking creative direction and iterating quickly
• Fluent in English, responsive, and detail-oriented
?
Project Details
• 5–6 short animations (30–90 sec each) to start
• Each video focuses on one system (Solar, Roofing, Windows, etc.)
• Potential for ongoing work creating new product explainers and social cuts
?
How to Apply
Please include:
1. Short intro and relevant experience
2. 2–3 samples of product or energy-related animations
3. List of tools you use (After Effects, Blender, Runway, etc.)
4. Estimated turnaround time per 60-second animation
?
Example Style
Think Apple product-launch visuals or Nest Thermostat promos — clean, intelligent, minimalist motion that helps people see how invisible systems work.
