About the Role

We’re looking for a fast, detail-oriented, and creatively sharp video editor who lives and breathes social media content. You’ll be responsible for editing vertical videos for platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts — from raw podcast clips to scripted skits to paid ad content.

You’ll work closely with our creative team but will also need to operate independently, make editorial decisions on your own, and turn projects around quickly without sacrificing quality. This role is perfect for someone who knows what performs well online and can bring an instinctive understanding of pacing, humor, and engagement to every edit.

Responsibilities:

Edit short-form vertical videos (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) using raw podcast footage, interview clips, or original shoot material.

Remove filler words, pauses, and tangents to create smooth, engaging narratives.

Add captions and proofread for spelling, grammar, and timing accuracy.

Use zoom-ins, punch-ins, and motion framing to emphasize key moments and emotions.

Incorporate trending sounds, background music, and SFX to elevate engagement while staying true to brand tone.

Maintain brand consistency — from font and color usage to pacing and humor style — across multiple clients with distinct brand voices.

Deliver multiple edits quickly while maintaining high creative standards.

Communicate effectively with creative leads and take both high-level direction and precise notes with professionalism.

Collaborate via Asana and Slack for task management and use Canva for brand asset alignment as needed.

Download and Upload content from Google Drive with ability to organize and name files.

Stay up-to-date on social trends, platform updates, and viral editing styles to keep content feeling fresh and relevant.

You Are:

A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and can make strong creative choices without constant direction.

Someone who understands what makes social content engaging — you intuitively know when to add a zoom, beat drop, meme sound, or emotional pause.

Extremely detail-oriented — especially with captions, audio syncing, and brand visuals.

Organized and able to juggle multiple projects, brands, and timelines at once.

Comfortable working fast and revising quickly based on feedback.

Passionate about online culture, short-form video, and storytelling.

Expertise & Experience:

Expert at editing vertical short-form video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts.

Deep understanding of pacing, hooks, and retention strategies for social-first storytelling.

Strong portfolio of podcast cutdowns, interview edits, and social ad content.

Experience editing both organic content (trends, skits, UGC) and paid ads for performance marketing.

Ability to balance creativity with data-driven content principles.

Comfortable managing multiple client styles (humorous, educational, lifestyle, wellness, etc.).

Tools You’ll Use

CapCut/Final Cut Pro/Adobe (Expert level required)

Asana (for task management)

Canva (for brand assets and templates)

Requirements

Fast turnaround — you can edit same-day and within an hour or less for shorter videos

Strong command of English (for caption accuracy and brand tone).

Reliable internet and access to current editing tools.

Portfolio or reel showing recent social video work (required).

Graphic design / motion graphics experience.

Understanding of paid social ad performance metrics (CTR, retention).

Experience editing for multiple niche audiences (wellness, comedy, business, etc.).

Knowledge of viral trends and meme culture.

To Apply

Please include:

Your portfolio of videos you've directly edited or TikTok/Instagram links showing examples of your edits.

Your per-video pricing.

A short note on how you decide what to cut or keep when editing a long podcast clip.
