CFO Level Financial Strategist and Controller
Remote | Must be available during United States Eastern Time

We are a United States based construction, property development, and property management company seeking an intelligent, proactive financial leader to help guide our organization into its next phase of expansion.
This part time role is perfect for a fractional CFO level professional who enjoys building systems, creating financial clarity, and supporting a growing company with strategic decision making. You will not only oversee bookkeeping accuracy, but also help shape our financial systems, optimize spending, monitor cash flows, and support the CEO with actionable insights, financial planning, and high level reporting.
The ideal candidate understands construction and real estate accounting, works confidently in QuickBooks and Google Sheets, designs scalable financial systems, and is passionate about improving profitability and efficiency.
This is a long term strategic partnership role for someone who wants to grow alongside an innovative and values based development company.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage the financial health of construction and real estate projects
• Review and interpret financial statements and project reports to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
• Track and forecast cash flow, budgets, job costs, and financial projections
• Create and improve systems for expense management, cost controls, reserves planning, and overall operational finance
• Recommend and implement financial efficiencies, cost saving strategies, and process improvements
• Ensure accuracy in bookkeeping entries, reconciliations, and reporting
• Monitor spending and vendor payments and proactively flag variances
• Create and deliver monthly financial executive reports for the Owner and CPA
• Support tax strategy and collaborate with CPA to maintain tax ready financials
• Provide insight driven guidance to support business decisions, funding strategies, and growth planning
• Maintain organized and audit ready financial documentation and internal controls
Reporting Structure
You will report directly to:
1. Company Owner and CEO
2. CPA and financial advisors

Requirements
• Five plus years of experience in accounting, finance leadership, or CFO level advisory work
• Strong construction and real estate project accounting experience
• Expertise in job costing, capital planning, cash flow management, and financial forecasting
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Google Sheets with strong analytical and spreadsheet skills
• Ability to think strategically while executing tactically when needed
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to present clear financial recommendations
• High level integrity, organization, initiative, and ability to work independently
• Comfortable with fast moving environments and founder led companies
• Available during United States Eastern Time working hours Monday through Friday
