JOB OVERVIEW

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Workers’ Compensation Coordinator to join our multidisciplinary healthcare office specializing in chiropractic, acupuncture, and physical therapy. This position plays a key role in managing the authorization, scheduling, and billing processes for workers’ compensation patients, ensuring accurate and timely handling of claims and compliance with California workers’ compensation regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Receive and process incoming workers’ compensation authorizations.

Review authorizations for accuracy and completeness; request and process corrections or extensions as needed.

Coordinate patient scheduling according to approved authorizations and treatment plans.

Track and monitor authorized visits, ensuring patients do not exceed approved limits.

Accurately prepare and submit claims for workers’ compensation services.

Follow up with adjusters, claims examiners, and third-party administrators (TPAs) regarding claim status, requests for authorization (RFAs), and payments.

Maintain communication with providers, patients, and insurance representatives to ensure smooth coordination of care.

Work closely with the Personal Injury Coordinator to assist with accounts receivable, collections, and payment posting.

Maintain organized and up-to-date patient and claim records in compliance with HIPAA and workers’ compensation guidelines.

Support the office team with additional administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience working with California workers’ compensation claims (required).

Familiarity with work comp billing codes for chiropractic, acupuncture, and physical therapy, and EOB/EOR review.

Experience in a chiropractic, physical therapy, or medical office setting preferred.

Strong understanding of workers’ compensation billing procedures and timelines.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and follow-up abilities.

Proficiency with practice management or EHR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Skills
Experience with account receivables or medical collections.
