About the Role
Legacy Sales Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Lead Web Designer to join our growing digital team. This role is perfect for a creative professional who thrives in both design and implementation — someone who can transform vision into functional, conversion-driven websites. You’ll take full ownership of projects from wireframe to launch, ensuring every website reflects our clients’ brands with excellence, clarity, and purpose.
This is currently a solo design position, but it offers a clear pathway to leadership as our agency expands. If you’re detail-oriented, adaptable, and passionate about creating websites that actually perform — not just look good — you’ll fit right in.
Responsibilities
Design and build responsive, visually stunning websites on WordPress that align with brand identity and marketing goals.
Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes in Figma to present design concepts before development.
Customize WordPress themes (Astra, GeneratePress, Kadence, Divi, etc.) and develop child themes when necessary.
Implement advanced layouts using page builders like Elementor or WPBakery, ensuring UI/UX best practices.
Manage plugin configurations, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain site speed and performance using Search Atlas.
Build and optimize landing pages, funnels, and lead generation systems integrated with GoHighLevel.
Ensure SEO readiness — including metadata, schema markup, image optimization, and clean permalink structures.
Manage hosting environments (WordPress installations, SSL, DNS, backups) and perform site maintenance as needed.
Integrate analytics tools such as Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and Meta Pixel to track campaign performance.
Translate client brand guidelines into cohesive digital visuals that enhance conversion and credibility.
Communicate progress, revisions, and timelines clearly with the Project Manager and team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
1+ years of proven experience in WordPress web design and development.
Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and basic PHP, with working knowledge of JavaScript/jQuery.
Deep understanding of UI/UX design principles, visual hierarchy, typography, and accessibility.
Strong command of responsive design principles using Flexbox and Grid.
Experience designing conversion-focused layouts with effective CTAs and lead capture systems.
Familiarity with WooCommerce, including product and checkout customization.
Ability to manage DNS, cPanel, and basic hosting tasks.
Understanding of CRM integrations, automation workflows, and tracking setup.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
A creative mindset with the discipline to meet deadlines and deliver quality work independently.
Preferred / Bonus Skills
Graphic design experience using Canva or Adobe Suite (for banners, social graphics, thumbnails).
Basic copywriting for persuasive, SEO-friendly headlines and CTAs.
Understanding of ADA/WCAG accessibility standards.
Familiarity with n8n or Make for API and automation integrations.
Experience with embedding optimized video and animation content.
