Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced surgeons to provide independent peer review services for ambulatory surgery centers, hospitals, and healthcare organizations. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of clinical excellence, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining objectivity in quality and utilization reviews.

Responsibilities:
Quality of Care Review
Evaluate the adequacy and completeness of clinical documentation.
Measure compliance with current standards of care.
Identify actual or potential quality-of-care concerns.
Provide evidence-based recommendations for quality improvement.
Utilization of Service Review
Assess medical necessity of procedures or services.
Consider severity of illness and intensity of service factors.
Evaluate appropriateness of care setting and alternative options.

Individual Provider Review
Evaluate documentation adequacy and consistency.
Address areas of concern or client-identified issues.
Measure provider compliance with accepted medical standards.
Recommend quality improvement and monitoring strategies when indicated.

Qualifications:
MD or DO with active, unrestricted medical license in the United States.
Board-certified in surgical specialty.
Orthopedic
Spine
Pain Management
Gastroenterology

Minimum of 5 years of post-residency clinical experience.
Prior experience in peer review, quality assurance, or utilization review preferred.
Strong understanding of CMS, AAAHC, QUAD A, and TJC standards desirable.
Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
Commitment to confidentiality, impartiality, and professional ethics.

Compensation:
Competitive per-case or hourly rates based on specialty and experience.

Paid per KPI:
1 peer review with no adverse events $5.00 USD each
1 peer review with adverse events $7.50 USD each (Med Error, wrong side, wrong site etc.

RCA:
KPI Dependant on severity to be negotiated

Hours are flexible as well as number of hours, this is dependant on specialty and volume of cases to be reviewed.
