Part-Time Virtual Assistant – Lactation Billing Specialist (10+ hrs/week)
Location: Remote – Philippines
Schedule: ~10 hours per week to start, with opportunity for additional hours during catch-up period and future practice growth

About Us:
Gorge Lactation & Wellness is a U.S.-based postpartum, breastfeeding and lactation practice providing compassionate, evidence-based care for new mothers and infants. We work closely with major insurance plans and use Charm EHR for our clinical and billing workflow.
The Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced virtual assistant specializing in lactation or medical billing to join our team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and deeply familiar with the nuances of billing lactation visits where both mother and baby are clients.
This is a part-time position (approximately 10 hours per week) with immediate availability for additional hours as we manage a temporary backlog. As our practice expands, there will be opportunities to grow your hours and responsibilities.
We plan to add sleep coaching, health coaching, and doula care services in the near future. Experience with benefit verification or billing for these services is considered a strong plus.
Responsibilities:
- Process superbills and insurance claims for lactation visits (mother and baby billed separately)
- Verify patient insurance benefits prior to appointments
- Communicate with clients by
- Post EOBs and reconcile payments in Charm EHR
- Manage Accounts Receivable (AR), including follow-up on unpaid claims and denials
- Coordinate with insurance companies as needed
- Maintain accurate billing records and documentation
- Attend weekly meetings with the clinic owner for updates and planning
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of U.S. medical billing experience, ideally including lactation, OB/GYN, or maternal-child health
- Proven understanding of coding for lactation visits involving both mother and infant clients
- Familiarity with CPT codes such as S9443, 99404, and related lactation modifiers
- Experience verifying benefits, managing AR, and corresponding with clients about billing
- Familiarity with Charm EHR or similar systems preferred
- Excellent written English and strong attention to detail
- Reliable internet connection and professional workspace
