Executive Summary:
We’re looking for a detail-obsessed designer who can bring a magazine to life through exceptional layout, typography, and visual storytelling.
The ideal candidate is fluent in Adobe InDesign and understands the intersection between design aesthetics and print-ready precision. You’ll collaborate closely with our editorial and creative team to build cohesive, beautiful, and production-ready magazine issues.
Responsibilities:
Design and assemble multi-page magazine layouts in Adobe InDesign, ensuring consistency across typography, color, and visual hierarchy.
Collaborate on content flow, cover concepts, feature spreads, and advertorial sections.
Manage prepress standards — including bleed setup, CMYK color conversion, image resolution (300dpi), and file preparation according to printer specifications.
Coordinate with editors and photographers to ensure text and imagery fit perfectly within the layout.
Prepare and export print-ready PDFs following defined print house specs (bleed, trim, registration, etc.).
Perform final quality control checks, ensuring no overbleeds, alignment issues, or font/color inconsistencies.
Maintain version control and work within an organized file structure for collaborative review and revisions.
Qualifications:
Expert proficiency in Adobe InDesign (including paragraph/character styles, master pages, and preflight tools).
Working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator for image prep and graphic enhancements.
Deep understanding of CMYK color management, resolution standards, and print production workflows.
Keen eye for layout balance, typography, and white space.
Proven ability to meet deadlines while maintaining precision and creative quality.
Experience working with printers or following detailed prepress specs preferred.
