Documentary-Style Writer for Reality TV Investigation Channel (Long-Form YouTube)

A growing faceless YouTube channel producing documentary-style investigations into reality-TV rescue and intervention shows (for example: Kitchen Nightmares, Hotel Hell, Bar Rescue, and similar formats).

Each video follows a two-part structure:

1. A cinematic, emotionally engaging recap of the original episode
2. A journalistic “what happened after” investigation built from real research and public records

We’re looking for a writer who can turn episodes into binge-worthy, ethically researched storytelling.

PART 1 – EPISODE RECAP (CRITICAL)

You will:

* Watch full episodes (40–60 minutes)
* Identify the most dramatic, emotional, high-stakes turning points
* Distill the story into a tight, compelling recap
* Capture personalities, conflicts, and transformations
* Write vivid scene descriptions that feel like the viewer is watching them
* Maintain ---------- ntum and pacing, building suspense and emotional pull
* Handle multi-thread stories cleanly when episodes follow multiple subjects

Goal: Turn a full episode into a gripping narrative that reads like a documentary voiceover, not a summary.
Tone: cinematic, conversational, narrative — show, don’t tell.

PART 2 – “WHAT HAPPENED AFTER” INVESTIGATION

You will:

* Conduct research using public records, news archives, local journalism, court documents, business filings, social media, and interviews where available
* Build clear timelines from the episode’s end to today
* Verify claims and separate fact from rumor
* Write aftermath arcs that are factual, human, and emotionally compelling

Goal: Deliver a satisfying, accurate “where are they now” section with real storytelling weight.

OVERALL WRITING EXPECTATIONS

* 20–45 minute scripts (approximately 3,000–6,000 words)
* Seamless flow from recap into investigation
* Documentary voice that is authoritative yet human
* Ethical storytelling that respects real people and real struggles
* YouTube pacing — strong hooks, high watch-time, minimal filler
* Ability to turn raw research and a 40-minute episode into an addictive script

Writers receive episode links, references, and a brief. You are expected to watch episodes fully, not recap from highlight clips.
