Every project is built like a startup: fast-moving, ambitious, and impact-focused.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be our first core designer hire, working directly with the founders and developers who’ve built products used by millions.
You’ll take ownership of the full design process across multiple projects from brand systems and UI/UX to custom vector illustrations and Lottie animations that bring our apps to life.

This role is perfect for someone who blends creativity with structure. For someone who can make a product feel alive while ensuring it’s functional, polished, and ready to ship.

Responsibilities

- Design beautiful, intuitive UI/UX for mobile apps and websites.
- Create vector-based illustrations and SVGs in a cohesive, brand-consistent style.
- Produce high-quality Lottie animations (Duolingo-level smoothness and emotion).
- Collaborate with founders, developers & creators to turn ideas into interactive, user-ready designs.
- Build clean design systems and component libraries for consistent scaling.
- Provide creative direction on visual identity, brand mascots, and motion style.
- Iterate quickly based on feedback.

About you

- You’re ambitious, creative, and obsessed with details. You love creating designs that don’t just look good, they feel good.
- You thrive in a fast-paced startup environment where autonomy, execution, and taste matter.

You should be:

- Highly skilled in Lottie / After Effects (non-negotiable — we expect Duolingo-standard animation quality).
- Strong with illustration and vector design (SVG, Figma, Illustrator, etc.).
- Experienced in UI/UX design for apps and web (Figma proficiency required).
- Capable of taking loose ideas and turning them into finished, polished products.
- Organised, clear communicator, and reliable with deadlines.
- Passionate about creators, design, and tech.

Payment and Terms

- Base: $1,500 USD per month (This is negotiable along with performance-based bonuses when deadlines are hit).
- Hours: 40 hours per week (exclusive of breaks).
- Weekends: Off.
- Holidays: Paid (dates flexible).
