POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The purpose of the Video Editor position is to conceptualise, create, and edit compelling video content that
aligns with the Agava organization and its client’s brand identity, engages audiences, and achieves specific marketing and
communication objectives. This role combines creativity with technical proficiency to produce high-quality videos that
resonate with target audiences across various platforms. The Video Editor plays a pivotal role in visually
storytelling, enhancing brand awareness, and driving engagement through effective video production and editing
techniques.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Edit videos based on internal and external long-form projects, ad campaigns, and other relevant
content.
• Create original, platform-appropriate content that aligns with the brand voice and campaign goals.
• Develop comprehensive content packets that include captions, suggested thumbnails, posting
instructions, and other creative assets for each video.
• Schedule content across all relevant platforms in alignment with campaign calendars and peak
engagement times.
• Execute end-to-end video editing, including trimming, transitions, sound design, captions, and
motion graphics, optimised per platform.
• Stay informed on current video trends, platform changes, and algorithm updates.
• Develop engaging storylines that resonate with the audience and reinforce brand messaging.
• Work closely with the marketing team to maintain consistency in tone, messaging, and strategic
direction.
• Optimise videos for maximum reach, viewer retention, and platform-specific engagement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Proven experience in content production and management, preferably in a video-centric role.
• Strong familiarity with video and podcast production tools.
• Excellent project management skills with a track record of meeting deadlines.
• Must display a passion for both photographic and video content and a commitment to holding editorial integrity.
• Extremely detail-oriented, well-organised, able to shift focus on different projects, and thrive in a deadline-driven
environment.
• Strong understanding of video marketing strategy, visual storytelling, and audience psychology
• Ability to quickly turn concepts into polished, publish-ready content.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Promote the Agava brand in a positive manner.
• Ensure that the final video and podcast aligns with the intended message, campaign goals, and overall strategy.
• Maintain well-organized project files, including footage, audio, and assets, to streamline the editing process.
• Efficiently handle multiple editing projects, meet deadlines, and manage workload effectively.
• Perform additional duties at the discretion of management.
