I have a fast growing U.S. Pokémon collectibles brand. We buy, sell, and trade cards and sealed Pokémon products — and we’re now expanding into content creation.
My videos feature real show travel (like Collect-A-Cons, card show vlogs, vendor point-of-views, and behind-the-scenes deals). Many videos are also just me talking behind a desk, showing cards, and discussing various topics.
I need a creative video editor who can take charge of our content, shape it into great stories, and manage the process independently.
These are the primary responsibilities of the job:
1) Editing. It's your job to edit footage - reduce fluff and bring out the important
2) Creative Direction - I'll always provide general guidelines and ideas as to what videos we can create from our footage, but I do expect you to be involved in the creative direction. I would like you to make your own decisions on what could be a fun video, what to include/not include, and more.
*** The Day to Day***
1. The primary focus will be long-form content on YouTube. 10-15 minute videos each day. Most of these will not require a lot of editing. 1-4 hours.
2. 1x/week~, we will provide a lot of footage from a show we attend. This video will require a lot more editing (7-12 hours). We will launch one of these videos a week.
Once these processes are solidified, and we are working well together, we will move into YouTube shorts and Instagram Reels. We will use our long-form content videos and break them down into YouTube shorts and Instagram Reels. We will begin posting 1-2x of these each day.
Requirements
- Flexibility from you. This role will likely be 20 hours/week to start, BUT could be more. I intend it to be 20-40 hours/week, but those times each week will change while we learn how to work together.
- You need to be a partner in the business. You need to help contribute to ideas and content and offer creative direction. I will give oversight, but I don't just want an employee who needs to be told everything. I want YOU to be creative and make decisions and offer feedback, and we'll work together on making great content.
Please watch both of these videos that we published. They are NOT excellent in terms of editing, but watch to understand the brand/vibe we are looking for.
We will publish a video like this every day -
We will publish a video (more editing) like this ~1x/week -
