We Need Two Video Editors Who Just Get It
We Need Two Video Editors Who "Get It"!
Look, I’m not going to start this with “Are you a detail-oriented self-starter?” because if you’re reading this, you probably already know if you’re good or not. If you’re not, then scroll past.
Here’s the deal: I’m expanding our creative team at Better Than Rich, and I need two video editors who can take a concept and run with it without me hovering over their shoulder every five minutes. That said, I’m obsessive about details—from lines, distracting objects, tints, shadows, to everything you can think of. Quality is non-negotiable. Every piece of content goes through my approval first, then to the client. So yes, revisions are part of the game. But your work needs to be tight: double, triple check that all brand guidelines are met before it hits my desk. We’re not doing rounds of obvious fixes, and I don’t have time for that.
You know that feeling when someone shows you rough footage with a vague direction, and your brain immediately visualizes the final cut? That’s what I want. If you claim to be a professional in this space, you should already have that creative eye.
What We Do:
We work with brands that range from luxury homes, high-end interior designers, custom home builders, luxury home services, local businesses, to Bulldog breeders selling holistic supplements, and consultants.
Here’s the reality: the content you’ll receive is often messy: wrong aspect ratios (mainly 16:9 that needs converting to 4:5 and 9:16 without losing details), insufficient footage, random static images showing well-lit homes that we turn into less-lit scenes, before-and-after shots, BTS footage, and final projects. All of this needs to become scroll-stopping, on-brand content: matching fonts, logos, voiceovers, talking heads, overlays, background colors, object removal, and more.
Your job is to take whatever we give you and turn it into
You need to be fluent in the usual suspects: Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut, CapCut, Riverside, DaVinci, whatever gets the job done. We’re not caught up in tools, but you must be current and know which software suits each project. AI-assisted editing? Absolutely, just make it fast, work seamlessly, and don’t sacrifice quality or the vision.
Additional Requirement:
You will also produce compelling text-overlaid images. This includes turning static images and footage into visually striking images with overlaid text that enhance engagement and clearly communicate the message. You should know how to pick impactful fonts, balanced layouts, and attractive color schemes that make the text pop and align with the brand.
What Matters:
Before starting any project, fully understand the brand: its voice, strategy, and direction. We’ll give you the info, but you need to digest it thoroughly before editing.
Stay current with social media trends. No Hormozi-style overdone content. Be creative and original.
Be vigilant about fonts and captions, no grammatical errors. Typography is important.
Know how to fix audio issues, whether with Adobe Audition, iZotope, or other tools. Bad audio ruins good content.
Manage multiple projects without dropping balls or losing your mind.
Adapt to very different tones. For example, “luxury residential” vs. “holistic pet supplements” and switch seamlessly.
Prioritize deadlines and communicate clearly. Your edits come to me first for approval, then to the client after I sign off. Set realistic expectations upfront.
Feedback and revisions are part of the process; that’s how we improve.
You’re remote, self-motivated, and will work mostly alongside me, my assistants, and account managers.
What I Don’t Want:
Endless revision cycles that waste time. If instructions aren’t clear, ask for clarification.
Producing mediocre work that doesn’t follow the brief or align with the brand. Clarify questions early rather than fixing mistakes later.
