AI Automations Developer — APIs, Zapier/Make, n8n, Node/Python, Twilio/JustCall, ClickUp/CRM — Ship Fast, Finish Faster

About the role
We’re a fast-moving U.S. contracting + tech ops company. You’ll build and maintain production-grade automations and AI voice agent backends across Zapier, Make, n8n, Node/Python, and telephony (Twilio/JustCall). You’ll wire ClickUp API workflows, webhooks, and data pipes that our sales and ops teams use daily. You ship quickly, communicate clearly, and you finish what you start. (We run on Eastern Time.)

What you’ll build (day-to-day)
API orchestration: Design robust flows that move data between apps using REST/GraphQL, OAuth, webhooks, retries, and idempotency keys; write custom functions where no native step exists. (ClickUp API is common.) ClickUp+1
Automation platforms: Create multi-step workflows in Zapier, Make, and n8n; handle branching, error catching, queues, cost/performance tuning. DOIT+1

Code work: Build glue code in Node.js/Python (transformations, signature checks, rate-limit handling, small microservices).
Telephony + AI voice agents: Wire Twilio/JustCall with AI assistants (prompts, webhooks, call events, summaries, call outcomes). Experience with Twilio’s AI Assistant/Voice agent patterns is a plus. Twilio+1
ClickUp + CRM integration: Auto-create/update tasks, push call summaries, sync statuses, and power dashboards via the ClickUp API. ClickUp+1
Reliability: Build monitors, logs, alerts; document failure/rollback paths; track run cost (Zapier task usage, Make ops, n8n queue)
Security & access: Work only on company accounts; follow least-privilege; maintain change logs.

Must-have skills:
2+ years hands-on in Zapier or Make AND at least 1+ year in n8n (code nodes, webhooks, custom modules).
Strong API chops: REST, auth flows, pagination, rate limits, retries, and data transforms.
Node.js or Python (one is fine; both is better).
Twilio/JustCall events, webhooks, call flows, transcripts/summaries (bonus: AI agent/ConversationRelay familiarity).
ClickUp API experience (or similar PM tool API) to create/update tasks and dashboards.
Excellent written English; reliable ET overlap; proactive status updates.
Nice-to-haves
Prompting/LLM toolchains, embeddings, vector DB basics (for agent memory/routing).
Data hygiene/ETL, queueing, caching, or serverless (Cloud Functions/Lambda).
Cost tuning on automation platforms (task/op minimization).

How we measure success (your KPIs)
Delivery speed: small tasks in <24–48h, medium flows in 2–4 days.
Reliability: <1% failed runs (rolling 7-day), with retry/backoff configured.
Quality: zero silent failures; logs + Slack/Email alerts; clear runbooks.
Impact: time saved, errors reduced, teams adopting your automations.

Schedule, pay, and perks
Hours: Full-time, 40 hrs/week, with 4–6 hrs/day overlap in U.S. Eastern Time.
