JOB OVERVIEW

Development Counsellors International is seeking to hire a virtual administrative support to assist in creating media reports in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Candidates must have a firm understanding of written English (to understand directions and respond to emails), the ability to follow step-by-step directions, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines. It’s very important to have reliable internet service.
The outline of the scope of work is provided below.

Daily, Add to Media Result Reports (2 hours per day)
A media results report in PR is a document that analyzes and summarizes a company's media coverage over a specific period, showing the impact of PR efforts on organizational goals. It provides both quantitative data, like impressions and mentions, and qualitative insights, such as sentiment and message pull-through, to demonstrate the value of the PR campaign to stakeholders

Using a template:
• Follow hyperlink to media placement and screen grab placement in accordance to the specs provided in the template.
• Paste hyperlink into an Excel (each category will be outlined).
• Using an online database, look up media outlet data and input outlet details into Excel.
• Upon review, transfer data to Google Data Studio

Create Media Success Stories (10 minutes each, up to 1 hour per day)
A media success story in PR is achieved when a brand secures positive and influential coverage in media outlets that reaches a targeted audience, enhancing its visibility and reputation.
Using a template:
• Follow hyperlink to media placement fill in the details of the template using information from a media database to document the media outlet name, publication date, media profile, and reach.
• Provide the resulting paragraph to account team to add details related to the origin of the media coverage prior to distribution.

Create Briefing Books (up to 3 hours per project)
A briefing book is an internal document that provides a spokesperson with all the information they need to prepare for a media interview or other public-facing engagement. It includes background on the reporter, company talking points, potential questions and answers, and key company information.
Following a template:
• Cut and paste provided information from a staffer email or online database into a Microsoft Word document
• Use Google to add logos of media outlet
• Use Google or LinkedIn to add photo of journalist
• Format logos and photos to fit template format using the tools on Microsoft Word
• Ensure formatting is 100?curate when compared to the template before returning document
• Following Instructions: This job requires carefully following step-by-step directions. Can you give an example of a time when you successfully followed detailed instructions?
• Attention to Detail: Accuracy is very important in this job. How do you check your work to make sure there are no mistakes?
• Time Management: You will have multiple tasks to complete each day. How do you d ---------- which task to do first when you have many things to complete?
• Technology Skills: This job requires using Excel, Microsoft Word, and Google tools. Can you describe your experience using these programs?
• Handling Challenges: If you don’t understand a task or an instruction, what steps would you take to solve the problem?

Hours: 9 AM – 1 PM Eastern Time (U.S.) – Mandatory
