The Opportunity

We are seeking an innovative and skilled Blog Writer to join our content team. The ideal candidate is a proficient wordsmith who not only writes engaging, high-quality content but also understands how to strategically and ethically integrate AI tools (such as large language models) into the content creation workflow for efficiency, ideation, and augmentation. We seek a writer who views AI as a strategic partner and productivity enhancer, not as a replacement for human creativity and critical thinking.



This role requires a balanced approach: leveraging the speed and scalability of AI while maintaining the unique voice, critical thinking, depth, and originality that only a human writer can provide, particularly for our festive, niche content.



Key Responsibilities

Develop engaging articles covering the Christmas industry, including:

Market trends (both retail and commercial).

"Dos and Don'ts" for professional installers and consumers.

Guides on elevating residential installations.

Product highlights and deep dives.

Case studies showcasing successful St. Nick's installations.



Content Creation: Write, edit, and proofread engaging, original, and well-researched blog posts (e.g., how-to guides, design trends, product features, large-scale installation showcases) focused on Christmas, holiday, and seasonal decor.



AI Integration: Strategically utilize AI writing tools for tasks such as initial research, drafting outlines, generating variations of headlines/meta descriptions, and speeding up the editing process.



Human Oversight & Polish: Critically review and thoroughly revise all AI-generated text to ensure factual accuracy, maintain our brand voice, eliminate generic or "robotic" language, and provide unique human insights and perspectives.



Fact-Checking: Ensure all content, whether AI-assisted or purely human-written, is accurate, properly cited, and reliable.



Collaboration: Work closely with the content manager, editors, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop a content calendar and meet publishing deadlines.



SEO Awareness (Preferred): Implement basic on-page SEO best practices, including keyword placement, internal/external linking, and optimizing content for readability and search engines.



Qualifications

Required:

Proven experience as a Blog Writer, Content Writer, Journalist, or similar role (Portfolio or writing samples required).



Demonstrable experience and competency in using current AI writing tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) and other content augmentation software.



Exceptional writing, grammar, and editing skills in English.



A strong understanding of the difference between AI-generated output and high-value, original human content.



Ability to grasp complex topics (like commercial-grade lighting specifications or large-scale display logistics) and translate them into clear, engaging, and accessible content.



Self-starter with excellent time management and organizational skills.



Must genuinely love Christmas (a strong affinity for festive cheer, holiday traditions, and seasonal content is essential!).



Preferred (A Plus):



Familiarity with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) principles and keyword research tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Keyword Planner).



Experience using a Content Management System (CMS) like WordPress or similar.
