YouTube Scriptwriter – UK House Renovation Channel (Turning Daily TikToks into Long-Form Stories)

Hi! I’m looking for a skilled YouTube scriptwriter to help transform my daily short-form renovation videos into a cohesive, emotional, long-form YouTube episode each week.

Each week, you’ll take the daily TikTok/Instagram videos (2–3 minutes each) that document my renovation and turn them into a 10–15 minute long-form YouTube script.

This isn’t just about stitching things together - it’s about crafting a story. You’ll highlight the emotional highs and lows, build tension, include strong hooks, and add ---------- nts of silence or music-only sections where needed to let the story breathe. You’ll also include timestamps, clip cues, and transition notes so the editor knows exactly what footage should appear and when.

Your job is to make every episode feel like a real journey - engaging, cinematic, and emotionally resonant - while staying completely true to my tone and personality.

???? WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Watch my daily short-form renovation videos (posted to TikTok/Instagram).
- Use those clips to build a weekly long-form YouTube script (10–15 minutes) that tells the full story of that week’s renovation.
- Include scene-by-scene directions, timestamps, and on-screen cues so the video editor knows what clips to use.
- Highlight emotional beats, tension points, and satisfying reveals to maximise retention and storytelling.
- Write in my existing tone and voice but always aim to improve pacing, flow, and structure for higher retention and watch time.
- Write intros and hooks that instantly capture attention and make viewers want to watch the full episode.
- Collaborate via WhatsApp throughout the week to clarify details, discuss structure, and make small adjustments as needed.
- Deliver the final completed script by Sunday morning (UK time) each week so any final footage can be captured before editing begins.

???? WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR

- Proven experience writing YouTube scripts, ideally in storytelling, documentary, or vlog-style formats.
- Excellent written and spoken English - full fluency in British English is essential.
- Strong understanding of YouTube storytelling structure and viewer retention principles.
- Ability to interpret short-form clips and build a clear, engaging long-form narrative from them.
- Creative sense for hooks, emotion, and story flow - you know how to keep viewers invested.
- Ability to work to tight weekly deadlines and communicate proactively.
- High attention to detail - scripts should read smoothly and feel cinematic but conversational.

- Experience with renovation, DIY, or transformation-style storytelling.
- Familiarity with YouTube analytics, pacing, and retention data.
- Understanding of music and pacing to suggest when music-only or silence can enhance emotion.

- Start: 1 script per week (expanding to 2 per week).
- Delivery: Final draft due Sunday morning (UK time).
- Time commitment: ~1 hour per day building script from short-form videos + additional time at end of week for refinement.
- Language: Full fluency in British English required.
- Communication: Daily WhatsApp check-ins; open, fast communication is key.
- Output: Polished Google Doc with timestamps, transitions, and stage directions clearly marked.
