Power BI Consultant (Principal/Senior Level)

We’re looking for an experienced Principal Power BI Consultant to join our growing team.
You’ll work with Australian clients across finance, retail, and services sectors to design,
develop, and optimise Power BI solutions that provide clear insights into business
performance.
This role is hands-on and execution-focused, requiring both strong technical expertise and a
solid understanding of financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards and semantic models.
• Develop complex DAX measures, time intelligence calculations, and financial
statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow).
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure clean, well-structured data models from SQL
and cloud data sources.
• Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into
high-quality BI solutions.
• Optimise dashboards for performance, usability, and self-service analytics.
• Contribute to testing, data validation, and documentation to ensure trusted, repeatable
outputs.

Requirements
• 6–10 years of experience in data and analytics, with at least 4–5 years focused on Power
BI.
• Proven expertise in delivering financial reporting solutions (P&L, Balance Sheet,
Cashflow).
• Strong technical knowledge of Power BI, including DAX, data modelling, drill-throughs,
bookmarks, and row-level security.
• Understanding of dimensional modelling, data grain, and business logic.
• Proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of SQL.
• Experience working in enterprise or multi-stakeholder environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, high-performance BI
solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently with
accountability.
