ABOUT YOU:
Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, the management accountant will be responsible for management accounting within our practice, specifically for our UK-based clients. This role requires the ability to liaise with and build strong relationships with our clients.
You will have the opportunity to interact with senior stakeholders, clients, and our leadership team, providing valuable exposure and experience. You are:
• Experienced in a similar role with a strong accounting skillset and previous staff management/supervisory experience.
• Familiar with the hospitality industry, either in the practice or industry.
• Resilient and possess leadership style that emphasises leading from the front.
• Eager to develop and be part of a fast-growing national practice.
• Capable of communicating effectively and partnering with Senior Management and other departments.
• Fully versed with 4-4-5 reporting.
• Proficient in advanced Excel skills;
• Proficient in Accounting Systems such as Xero and NetSuite are preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise and assist with the completion of monthly management accountants and client meetings.
• Produce board packs for monthly management meetings.
• Manage a team of Management Account Assistants and Bookkeepers, and mentor new tea
• Supervise the bookkeeping function.
• Reconcile balance sheets at month-end, including bank and inter-company reconciliations, resolving discrepancies as necessary.
• Produce and post monthly journals.
• Maintain fixed asset registers for clients.
• Prepare information for annual corporation tax schedules and assist the tax team.
• Produce monthly and quarterly VAT returns/reconciliations.
• Assist with budget preparation and forecasts for clients.
• Assist with statutory audits and audit information across teams and disciplines.
• Translate raw data into meaningful analytics and provide insights and advice for clients with varying levels of financial literacy.
• Regularly communicate with client’s management to provide accurate reporting data and implement solutions to improve profitability and efficiency.
• Take ownership off accounting functions, ensuring all books are properly maintained and internal controls are in place for financial reporting accuracy and efficiency.
• Advice clients on action plans during periods of limited cash flow.
• Liaise with the tax team to finalise year-end reporting or tax returns on behalf of clients.
• Ensure all deliverables, including monthly accounts, audit packs, and other relevant reports, are delivered on time and in accordance with agreed SLA’s.
• Advise clients on the data within management accounts, educating them on using the information to drive decisions and strategies.
• Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure continuous value addition.
• Act as a financial adviser to clients, offering support and advice for their business and decisions.
• Review and maintain the aged debtors and creditors reports weekly, ensuring overdue balances are followed up and flagged to management, and process payment runs per agreed payment terms.
• Coordinate information flow between our back-office and clients.
