API Developer (QuickBooks + Lovable Integration for CFO Analytics Tool)

sebCFO is a New York–based fractional CFO firm that provides bookkeeping, tax, and strategic finance services to startups, small businesses, and real estate investors across the U.S.

We’re developing a CFO analytics and financial insights platform designed to connect client accounting data (via QuickBooks) with automation and visualization tools (via Lovable and other APIs). The goal is to create a seamless backend that powers automated dashboards, KPI tracking, and custom reports for our clients.

We’re looking for an experienced API developer or automation engineer who can design, build, and deploy these integrations end-to-end.

Responsibilities:

Develop robust integrations between Intuit QuickBooks Online API and Lovable API

Build data pipelines to pull financial, operational, and transactional data automatically

Normalize and store financial data in structured formats for analysis (SQL, Firebase, or similar)

Work with sebCFO team to define financial metrics, KPIs, and visual outputs for clients

Create backend logic for real-time reporting and forecasting dashboards

Ensure proper authentication, error handling, and data security compliance

Document workflows and build scalable architecture for future automation

Qualifications:

Proven experience with QuickBooks Online API (authentication, query endpoints, transaction data)

Experience with Lovable workflows and automation framework (or equivalent no-code API platforms)

Strong understanding of financial data structures (GL, P&L, balance sheet, chart of accounts)

Experience with Python, Node.js, or n8n / Zapier scripting preferred

Familiarity with Google Cloud, Firebase, or AWS for data storage and processing

Understanding of accounting workflows is a major plus

Excellent communication and documentation skills

Bonus Skills:

Prior experience working with accounting, tax, or fintech SaaS tools

UI/UX familiarity to support dashboard visualization (e.g., Power BI, Looker Studio, or Retool)
