We are looking for a web developer to help build an early working version of our startup website, PlanWell. PlanWell helps employees better understand and compare health insurance plans in simple terms.
The goal is to create a professional, modern website that clearly explains how PlanWell works and allows users to interact with a basic quiz or onboarding form that recommends the right health plan for them.
You will be responsible for turning an existing design layout into a real, functioning website. The layout has already been visually developed using a website builder, which will serve as your reference for design and structure. You do not need to use any existing code — the focus is on rebuilding the site cleanly and correctly.
The final product should be fully responsive (desktop and mobile) and ready to host or connect to simple backend features later on.
?
Responsibilities:
• Build a working website using clean, organized code.
• Recreate the layout and functionality shown in the provided design example (Base44 website reference).
• Ensure that the website is responsive and mobile-friendly.
• Set up clear navigation for all main sections (e.g., Home, How It Works, Features, Resources, Contact).
• Add simple functionality for forms or quizzes that collect basic user inputs (such as multiple-choice questions or text fields).
• Include clear call-to-action buttons (e.g., “Start Plan Quiz”) that connect to forms or relevant sections.
• Add basic animations, hover effects, or transitions to improve user experience.
• Ensure that all text, links, and images display correctly across browsers.
• Make sure the structure is easy to update or expand later.
?
Requirements:
• Proven experience developing websites (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with frameworks such as React, Next.js, or Vue.js is a plus.
• Knowledge of simple backend tools (Node.js, Firebase, or API integration) is helpful but not required for this version.
• Strong understanding of web structure, layout, and responsive design.
• Ability to take an existing layout/design and accurately rebuild it.
• Must write clean, organized, and easy-to-understand code.
• Good communication skills and responsiveness to feedback.
?
What We Will Provide:
• Full visual references from our Base44 site showing layout, colors, and structure.
• Clear written descriptions of what each page and feature should do.
• Ongoing feedback and support throughout development.
• Example content (text and images) to include on each page.
?
What the Website Should Include:
1. Home Page – brief summary of PlanWell’s purpose and a “Start Plan Quiz” button.
2. How It Works Page – step-by-step explanation of how employees use PlanWell to choose their insurance plan.
3. Features Page – list of the platform’s capabilities (plan comparison, cost clarity, AI recommendations, etc.).
4. Resources Page – placeholder section for articles, case studies, and videos.
5. Contact Page – simple form for inquiries.
6. Basic Form/Quiz – an interactive section where users answer short questions about their needs.
7. Responsive Design – all pages should look professional and clean on both desktop and mobile.
?
Communication & Work Process:
• You will work directly with the founder (Marc) for feedback and direction.
• Work can be done remotely and on your own schedule.
• Weekly progress updates are expected to stay aligned on progress and priorities.
• Clear and regular communication is important to ensure the project moves forward efficiently.
?
To Apply (Required):
Please include the following when applying:
1. A short message explaining why you’re interested in this project.
2. Links to 1–2 websites you have built.
3. A quick overview of your technical skills and what tools you prefer to use.
4. Confirmation that you can follow visual design references and recreate layouts accurately.
