News Writer

We are looking for a Full-Time LIFESTYLE, FOOD and ENTERTAINMENT NEWS WRITER. The role involves primarily writing food, lifestyle, business-retail, and entertainment-focused news stories, as well as some geeky pop culture and technology stories.

You MUST provide at least 3 published URL samples of your previous work in your cover letter or your application will be IGNORED. Also, tell us what makes you qualified for this job.

This writer role will report directly to the Editor-in-Chief who is based in the U.S. This is a remote job but you can work regular Philippine business hours.

This is a full-time contract-based position with paid time off and a bonus structure.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Writing up to 6 daily news articles M-F (Approximately  ----------  words each)
- Formatting stories on the backend to include appropriate images, links, and layout

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- MUST BE Fluent in English writing with the ability to proofread and fact-check your own work
- Experience writing for a news publication
- Basic knowledge of Wordpress
- Ability to work under pressure and meet daily deadlines
- Preferred: Passion for technology and geeky lifestyle topics
- Preferred: Experience writing in a fast-paced environment
- Preferred: Basic knowledge in Adobe Photoshop or equivalent
