Position Overview
We’re looking for a skilled Video Editor who understands how to create content that performs across platforms. This role goes beyond trimming footage — it’s about storytelling, strategy, and style. We want someone who knows how to structure videos for attention and retention, brings creative energy to every project, and stays on top of current trends, platform algorithms, and event-based editing needs.
Key Responsibilities
· Edit weekly long-form YouTube videos (5–15 minutes) for pacing, clarity, and viewer retention.
· Create 3–5 short-form video clips per long-form video for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts,
· Add text overlays, captions, transitions, hooks, and music to match current platform trends and brand tone.
· Edit with storytelling and retention in mind — removing dead space, reordering sequences, and enhancing flow.
· Work from transcripts, timestamps, and creative direction while applying strong editorial judgment.
· Stay up to date with short-form video trends, platform formats, and viral editing techniques.
· Collaborate with the team to support publishing timelines, launches, campaigns, and creative direction.
· Manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on set deadlines.
· Handle various editing tasks while maintaining high attention to detail and creative consistency.
· Edit event-based footage — including live events, speaking engagements, workshops, and behind-the-scenes clips — ensuring smooth transitions, proper audio syncing, and a professional cinematic look.
· Select and compile highlight reels for promotional purposes and recap videos that capture the energy and key
Qualifications
· 3+ years of experience editing video for online brands, content creators, or businesses.
· Proven experience in event video editing, including multi-camera setups, live event coverage, or on-site recordings.
· Strong portfolio of both long-form YouTube videos and short-form content that demonstrate pacing, storytelling, and audience engagement.
· Solid understanding of platform-specific formats, timing, and algorithmic preferences (TikTok, Reels, Shorts, etc.).
· Strong creative judgment and ability to follow brand direction and tone.
· Familiarity with YouTube SEO (titles, thumbnails, CTAs) is a plus.
· Ability to manage large media files, sync multiple audio/video sources, and maintain organized project structures.
· Reliable, communicative, organized, and proactive with excellent time-management skills.
· Comfortable using transcripts, AI tools, and JIRA-based workflows.
