AI Process Engineer (n8n Automation Specialist)

Role Summary
- We’re looking for a skilled **AI Process Engineer** who lives and breathes automation in n8n. You’ll be responsible for designing, building, and documenting both **internal** and **external workflow automations**, WHILE also training our CEO to think, build and scale automations (this job is (50% automating, 50% teaching the thinking process of AI and automation!). This role is ideal for someone with deep hands-on experience in **n8n**, **API integrations**, and **no-code/low-code systems, javascript and python.** who loves solving complex operational problems fast and cleanly. You’ll start part-time (around 20 hours per week), with a clear path to full-time if there’s a strong fit and results are delivered quickly.

Key Responsibilities
- Speak and understand english fluently
- Understand and study our companies processes
- Design, build, and ship production-ready automations for internal and client-facing processes (using tools like n8n, Zapier, and custom scripts).
- Collaborate directly with the CEO to build automations together, explain systems, and transfer knowledge through live teaching sessions.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation and SOPs for every automation created , clarity and structure are non-negotiable.
- Set up and manage integrations between tools such as **Google Sheets, Airtable, Slack, Salesforce, Confluence, and Jira**.
- Implement and optimize **chatbots and voice agents**, starting with onboarding and support automations.
- Write lightweight **JavaScript and Python** snippets when needed to extend automation capabilities.
- Identify automation opportunities across departments, propose improvements, and guide implementation from start to finish.
- Work iteratively — **ship fast, improve continuously**, and maintain a high standard of execution.

**Required Qualifications & Skills**
- 1–2+ years of professional experience building automations in n8n .
- Proven track record of at least 30 completed automations you can explain or demonstrate.
- Strong command of *n8n* and experience with tools like *Zapier*, **Airtable*, and *Google Workspace integrations*.
- Proficiency in *webhooks, APIs, and JSON data handling*.
- Comfortable writing simple scripts in *JavaScript* or *Python*.
- Experience with *Confluence, Jira*, and documenting technical processes.
- Excellent *communication and teaching skills* — able to explain complex systems in simple, clear terms.
- Meticulous attention to detail and documentation.

- Ability to work and communicate effectively within the *CET (Belgian) time zone*, with flexibility for evening or weekend teaching sessions.
- Candidates must have hands-on experience with:
- RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) setups,
- MCP (Model Context Protocol) integrations,
- solid database management or data retrieval system experience.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience automating workflows for *SaaS companies*
- Familiarity with *Salesforce* and/or *CRM integrations*
- Understanding of *AI-based workflow orchestration* or chatbot/voice agent design.

*Work Environment*
- Remote (CET preferred; flexible schedule).
- Collaboration primarily with the CEO via live sessions, Loom videos, and async documentation.
- Expect hands-on, fast-paced work — this is a builder’s environment where speed and precision matter equally.

*Compensation*
- *$4–$20/hour*, depending on experience and technical proficiency.
- Part-time (20 hrs/week) to start, with strong potential to move into a *full-time contract* if performance and alignment are strong.
