Business Development Assistant - Background Screening Services

We specialize in serving nursing schools, real estate schools, local businesses, healthcare businesses and individuals who need licensure and employment screening services.
The Opportunity
We're seeking a motivated Business Development Assistant to help us grow our client base through strategic outreach and lead generation. This is a performance-based opportunity with clear growth potential for the right candidate.

*Compensation Structure*
Trial Period (First 14 Days):
-Base pay: $15 USD for completing the trial project
-Performance bonus: Additional $5 USD if you secure a confirmed contract or client commitment (a prospect says "yes" to moving forward with our services)
-Total potential: $20 USD for trial period
Permanent Position (After Successful Trial):
-Starting rate: $250/month (9-10 hours/week)
-Performance increases: Compensation grows based on performance, with opportunities for increased hours and higher rates. Proven results = more hours + higher compensation
Important: This is a 1099 independent contractor position. You are responsible for your own taxes and will not receive employee benefits.
*Trial Project Details
Your 14-day trial project will include:
What we provide:
-15 leads with contact information
-Training on our services, value proposition and systems we use
-System access for tracking your outreach, communication and task tracking
What you'll do:
-Research and identify 10 additional local businesses in Cary, NC (within 15 mile radius)
-Conduct personalized cold outreach via phone and
-Follow up with prospects using multi-channel approach
-Track all activities and responses in our CRM
Success metric: Secure at least 1 client commitment (a prospect agrees to use our services) within 14 days
Timeline: Must be completed within 14 days of start date
Permanent Role Responsibilities
Upon successful completion of trial, your ongoing duties will include:
Lead Generation & Research:
-Identify and research potential clients in target markets
-Build lists of nursing schools, real estate schools, and local businesses
-Prioritize prospects based on need and opportunity
Outreach & Engagement:
-Cold call decision-makers (HR managers, school administrators, practice managers, business owners)
-Send personalized
-Schedule discovery calls and consultations
-Handle initial objections and questions
Follow-Up & Pipeline Management:
-Maintain consistent follow-up cadence (3-5 touches per prospect)
-Update CRM with all activities, notes, and outcomes
-Nurture long-term leads with periodic check-ins
-Report weekly on activities and results

-Nursing schools and programs (licensure fingerprinting and background checks)
-Real estate schools (licensure requirements)
-Small to medium businesses (pre-employment screening)
-Staffing agencies (volume background checks, drug testing, fingerprinting)
-Healthcare facilities (licensure fingerprinting and background checks)
-Childcare centers (mandatory background checks)
-Property management companies (tenant screening)
-Individuals (personal background checks, DNA testing)
*Requirements*
Experience:
Minimum 1 year in B2B sales, lead generation, or business development
Proven track record of cold calling and
Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, or similar)
Skills:
Excellent English communication (written and verbal)
Strong research and list-building abilities
Comfortable with rejection and persistent follow-up
Self-motivated and results-oriented
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Technical:
Reliable high-speed internet connection
Professional home office setup
Computer with webcam for occasional meetings
Availability:
Must be available during US East Coast business hours (9 AM - 5 PM EST)
Quick response time to
Able to start within 7 days of hire
Preferred (Not Required):
Experience in HR services, background screening, or compliance industries
Familiarity with healthcare or education licensing requirements
Previous work with US-based clients
