Shopify Store Builder

Overview

We’re looking for a Shopify expert who can design, build, and optimize fully functional eCommerce stores from the ground up. The ideal candidate has a strong blend of design sense, technical expertise, and conversion-driven strategy — someone who understands both how Shopify works and how to make a store sell.

Key Responsibilities

Build new Shopify stores from start to finish, including setup, theme customization, apps, and checkout flows.

Design and customize Shopify themes to align with brand guidelines and visual identity.

Integrate and configure apps for functionality such as subscriptions, upsells, inventory, analytics, or customer reviews.

Implement conversion optimization best practices (UX, mobile performance, site speed, layout flow).

Set up product collections, variants, tags, and SEO-friendly pages.

Manage Shopify settings (shipping, taxes, domains, payments, and discount codes).

Troubleshoot and debug technical issues or third-party integration conflicts.

Collaborate with the marketing and design team to ensure cohesive brand presentation and product storytelling.

Continuously optimize for conversion rates, retention, and customer experience.

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience building Shopify stores (please include links to live examples).

Strong understanding of Shopify’s Liquid framework, HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.

Experience integrating Shopify Apps, APIs, and third-party tools.

Knowledge of eCommerce best practices — including SEO, site structure, and CRO.

Familiarity with Shopify Plus and advanced features (preferred but not required).

Strong design eye and understanding of brand cohesion and storytelling.

Ability to manage multiple projects and hit deadlines without micromanagement.

Meta Pixel / TikTok Pixel for tracking

Hotjar or similar user-behavior tools

Bonus Experience

Experience with Dropshipping or Print-on-Demand setups

Knowledge of Shopify Markets (international selling)

Familiarity with Shopify API integrations or custom theme development

Compensation

Contract or hourly (based on skill and experience)

Potential for ongoing project-based or long-term retainer work
