International Forwarder Operations Specialist

The International Forwarder Operations Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of international freight forwarding, including logistics coordination, shipment documentation, customer communication, and regulatory compliance. This role requires a high level of organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of international trade laws and procedures to ensure seamless transportation and delivery of goods globally.




Key Responsibilities


1.? ?Freight Operations Management

• Coordinate and manage the end-to-end shipment process, including air, ocean, and ground freight forwarding.

• Arrange bookings with carriers, agents, and third-party logistics providers to ensure timely deliveries.

• Monitor shipments in transit and resolve issues such as delays, re-routings, or damaged goods.


2.? ?Documentation and Compliance

• Prepare and verify all necessary shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, and Commercial Invoices.

• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.

• Handle customs clearance processes by liaising with brokers and providing accurate documentation.


3.? ?Customer Service

• Communicate regularly with clients to provide shipment updates, address inquiries, and resolve concerns.

• Maintain strong relationships with customers by delivering exceptional service and proactive communication.

• Advise clients on optimal shipping solutions, cost-saving opportunities, and risk mitigation strategies.


4.? ?Cost Management and Optimization

• Negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers to optimize cost-effectiveness and profitability.

• Track and analyze shipping costs to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving measures.

• Prepare and review invoices to ensure accuracy in billing and documentation.


5.? ?Technology and Data Management

• Utilize freight management systems and software to track shipments, maintain records, and streamline processes.

• Generate reports and analytics on shipping performance, cost trends, and service levels.


6.? ?Problem-Solving and Risk Management

• Anticipate and mitigate potential risks in international shipping, such as political instability, weather disruptions, or regulatory changes.

• Develop contingency plans for handling emergencies or unforeseen circumstances.

• Investigate and resolve disputes related to shipments, including claims for loss or damage.
