Company Summary
Basepoint Engineering specializes in lifting equipment, structural inspections and oilfield equipment design. We are a remote first company spread across Alberta and primarily work with manufacturing companies to bring a wide variety of oilfield and construction equipment to market.
What You’ll Do
Design, engineer and reverse engineer equipment.
Produce detailed CAD drawings, 3D models, and bills of materials (BOMs).
Collaborate with welders, machinists, and shop technicians to ensure manufacturability.
Assist in design reviews, stress analysis, and material selection.
Prepare documentation: test reports, revisions, inspection checklists.
Troubleshoot shop floor design or manufacturing issues.
Work with our field team to reverse engineer existing lifting equipment, stands etc.
Supply capacity rating for previously unrated equipment.
What We’re Looking For
Mechanical Engineering degree + EIT (or eligible with APEGA).
1-5 years' experience (internships or co-op placements welcome).
Proficient in SolidWorks/Onshape
Knowledge of fabrication, machining, welding practices.
Curious, hands-on, and detail-oriented problem solver.
