We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Virtual Assistant to manage video editing with Descript, VN app or other, captioning, thumbnail creation, and publishing using Descript and Canva. This role supports our content team by ensuring videos are polished, branded, and ready for publication on YouTube with accurate captions, eye-catching thumbnails, and optimized metadata.

Responsibilities:

Video Editing with Descript:

Edit uploaded videos using Descript’s Editor to correct errors, remove filler words, and refine pacing.

Create and format captions and subtitles to match spoken content accurately.

Ensure all edits maintain brand tone, clarity, and engagement.

Some Edits with VN Video Editing App

Thumbnail Creation in Canva:

Design custom, visually compelling YouTube thumbnails in Canva using provided brand colors, fonts, and templates.

Incorporate key visual hooks and text overlays that drive clicks and engagement.

Coordinate with the content team to match thumbnails with video tone and topic.

Publishing via Descript & YouTube Integration:

Export final edited videos through Descript.

Sign into the YouTube channel (with provided credentials) to upload final videos, apply metadata (titles, descriptions, tags), and select the correct custom thumbnail.

Ensure all uploads are properly categorized, scheduled, and optimized for SEO visibility.

Quality Control & Communication:

Double-check audio/video sync, caption timing, and thumbnail quality before publishing.

Maintain organized folders for project assets and keep detailed records of uploads and revisions.

Communicate progress and deliverables daily via project management tools or email.

Qualifications:

Descript for video editing and captioning.

Canva for professional thumbnail design.

VN App for Video Editing Highlights

Familiarity with YouTube Studio, including video uploads, metadata, and thumbnail optimization.

Strong written English and attention to detail for accurate caption corrections.

Reliable internet connection and availability for ongoing project collaboration.

Bonus Skills:

Experience with SEO optimization for YouTube videos.

Understanding of video marketing and audience engagement strategies.

Ability to repurpose long-form content into short-form clips for social media.
Compensation & Trial Period:
First Month Trial:
We start everyone on a trial period for their first month, with a compensation of $160 for 40 hours per week.

Second Month:
If you successfully complete the trial, your compensation will be $200 per month for 40 hours per week.

Year-End Bonus: After working with us for 12 months,
you will receive a year-end bonus equal to 25% to 100% of your total year's salary.
