JOB OVERVIEW

???? ABOUT THE ROLE????
Hi! I’m a solo entrepreneur and tech worker based on New York City currently relaunching and scaling a Merch by Amazon business.

I grew it to 1,000+ sales/month back in 2017 operating alone, but I had to pause it to keep my attention full-time on my tech startup. I am now starting over with the account and hiring an experienced full?time graphic designer to create market?ready apparel designs (mostly tees/hoodies) for sale.

Agencies are welcome - just note POD/Merch margins are tighter these days due to tariffs/trade. I would like someone to focus on the research and design aspect while I focus on the marketing and broader business.

• Output target: ~450 finished designs/month (?15/day average). Generative AI may be used to help reach targets (not required).

• Term: Long?term, with room to scale responsibilities and compensation as sales grow.

• Compensation: Please bid your monthly rate based on portfolio, speed, and quality. The PHP 55,000 is the target average seniority / experience level I'm looking for.

• Runway: 9–12 months of steady work; if we tier up as planned, up to ~2 years. Who knows, we might even hit that 'unlimited' tier.

???? WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Design: Original, print?ready 4500×5400 PNG (300 DPI, transparent). Mix of typography, simple illustration, and tasteful ---------- /niche concepts.

• Research: Propose ideas from historic + current trends (I won’t hand you daily prompts).

• Compliance: Run trademark/IP checks before designing.

• Quality: Clean layouts, strong type, purposeful color; avoid the “generic AI” look.

• Organization: Consistent filenames; provide source files on request (PSD/AI/Kittl/Canva); tidy folders.

? PERMUTATIONS COUNT TOWARD QUOTA (done right)

Thoughtful variations count as individual designs:
• Age series: “I am ?64 years old”, “I am ?81 years old” (or 8th/9th birthday).
• Occupation series: “Best Firefighter Ever”, “Best Mechanic Ever”, “Best Electrician Ever”.
• Relationship series: “World’s Coolest Dad/Mom/Aunt/Uncle/Teacher”.

Guardrails: Proper typesetting/spacing; check contrast on black/gray/white; avoid spammy low?value variants. Rerun TM checks on repeated phrases. Batching is fine (CSV/Kittl/Canva/Photoshop variables, light scripting, AI assist) as long as outputs look human?approved.

???? TOOLS & SUPPORT

Current stack: MyDesigns, Merch Dominator (open to Merch Informer/MerchFlow, etc.).

I’ll provide or purchase practical tools you recommend (e.g., Kittl Pro, Canva Pro, Adobe CC, ChatGPT, Midjourney/Leonardo, fonts/asset packs).

• Bonus: Coming with your own licensed tools + a proven workflow is a plus. Include your usual tech stack.

???? HOW WE’LL WORK

• Async first with frequent, lightweight check?ins.
• Simple norms/style guides via Loom + text; we’ll refine together.
• Periodic reviews (sample checks, not micromanagement).
• As we see what sells, we’ll double down on winners and scale.

???? WHAT A GREAT FIT LOOKS LIKE

• POD experience (Merch by Amazon, Etsy/Redbubble, or POD clients).

• Strong typography; comfortable with simple illustration.

• Can do your own research and avoid TM issues.

• Familiar with Merch Dominator and/or Merch Informer (or a fast learner).

• Process?oriented: steady monthly throughput without quality slipping.

???? PLEASE APPLY WITH (short + specific)

Portfolio link (POD designs preferred).

Blind monthly bid (USD) + realistic monthly output/hours.

Tool stack you use/recommend (design + AI + research).

Your workflow (research ? concept ? final PNG in 3–6 sentences).

Your trademark check process (tools/databases + what you look for).

Your best?performing design (show/describe) and why it sold.

Merch tools used (Merch Dominator / Merch Informer / Merch Titans / My Designs) and how.

AI usage: how you avoid “generic AI” and ensure originality/license safety.

Common?sense IP check: Many bestsellers feature licensed IP (Sanrio, SpongeBob, major anime/K?pop). Is it appropriate to use those IPs without permission?

Availability & communication: Preferred check?in rhythm, and start date.

???? OPTIONAL BUT HELPFUL

• What makes a good selling tee (composition, audience clarity, read distance, trend timing, etc.).
• Any processes you’d start with (templates, batch workflows, naming).

? NICE?TO?HAVES (not required)

• Experience with Kittl Pro, Canva Pro, Dream AI/Midjourney, Procreate, Photoshop/Illustrator.
• Clean vector icon/illustration skills.
• Light mockups for seasonal tees (Q4 is big).

???? GROUND RULES

• Designs must pass basic TM checks.
• BE CAREFUL. No protected IPs. Amazon does not mess around with copyright - enough flags and the account gets locked and we are as good as dead.
• We iterate fast, keep feedback concise, and focus on results.

NOTE: If you happen to love urban fantasy / anime and have interest in illustrating web comics or webtoons down the road, please include that with your application.

I've written a massive web serial that I'm also trying to adapt if I saturate this Merch account.
