Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payment Posting Specialist to assist with cleaning up our SimplePractice EHR system. Currently, we have outstanding balances reflected in the system due to payments received in our bank account that were not posted to SimplePractice. The primary focus of this role will be initial clean-up and reconciliation, with the potential for ongoing work in claims filing, payment posting, and benefit verification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and reconcile payments received in the bank account with outstanding balances in SimplePractice.
- Post insurance and client payments accurately into the SimplePractice EHR system.
- Identify discrepancies and correct posting errors to ensure accounts are accurate and up to date.
- Address and follow up on any prior unpaid claims encountered during clean-up where payment has not been received or posted.
- Clean up and organize billing/payment records for accuracy and compliance.
- Communicate regularly on progress, issues identified, and resolutions.

• File insurance claims and manage denials.
• Continue accurate posting of payments.
• Verify insurance benefits prior to client services to ensure accurate billing and reduce claim issues.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with SimplePractice EHR (required).
- Strong background in behavioral health billing, payment posting, or healthcare claims processing.
- Familiarity with insurance EOBs, ERA, manual posting processes, and benefit verification.
- Ability to research and follow up on unpaid or unposted claims.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills in English.
Work Arrangement:
- Project-based contract for initial clean-up, with the possibility of ongoing part-time work (claims filing, payment posting, and benefit verification).
- Flexible hours but must meet agreed deadlines for reconciliation and clean-up.
- Compensation: $6–$9/hour (depending on experience).
