Finance Admininstrator

We are a growing construction company with projects across the state of Michigan. We’re expanding our finance department to strengthen financial oversight, streamline accounting, and support project profitability. We are seeking a detail-oriented remote Finance & Accounting Specialist with experience in construction or project-based businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage accounts payable (subcontractor invoices, vendor payments, material suppliers).

Manage accounts receivable (client billing, progress payment applications, retainage tracking).

Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and job cost reports.

Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and vendor accounts.

Maintain accurate records of project budgets, expenses, and change orders.

Support project managers with financial tracking.

Prepare financial reports for leadership to inform cash flow and project profitability.

Assist with payroll processing and certified payroll reports (if applicable).

Ensure compliance with company policies and industry requirements.

Work closely with the CFO/Controller (or company leadership) on financial forecasting and planning.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).

3+ years of experience in accounting/finance; construction industry experience strongly preferred.

Knowledge of construction billing formats (AIA G702/G703) is a plus.

Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks)

Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills for reporting and analysis.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines.
