We’re looking for a detail-oriented Excel assistant to support ongoing data and reporting tasks for a U.S.-based housing agency. This is a part-time or gig-based role, ideal for someone with strong spreadsheet skills and a good sense of organization.
You will work directly with an Operations Analyst to update and improve monthly dashboards, expense reports, and compliance trackers that support critical programs like resident services, petty cash (gift cards), and housing recertifications.
Tasks You'll Handle:
- Service Coordination Dashboard (Monthly)
- Update an existing Excel dashboard with new CRM-exported data
- Add new filters (by supervisor, team, staff)
- Build quarterly trend tracking
- Optimize layout for screenshots and visual summaries
Expense Report (Monthly)
- Organize expenses into a clean summary (I will provide General Ledger in Excel format and you will extract data from)
- Add totals, categories, and budget comparisons
- Format for external review (signatures, notes, etc., I will provide current format for reference)
Gift Card Tracking (Ongoing)
- Maintain a gift card tracker (inventory, distribution, signatures)
- Help streamline workflow for quarterly supervisor orders
- Track who received cards, when, and for what purpose
Annual Recertification Tracker (Ongoing)
- Track which residents are due for recertification
- Monitor statuses (not started, in progress, complete, failed)
- Flag missing documents or failed checks
- Help format tracker for easy filtering and reporting
Qualifications:
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, filters, basic formulas, macros, VBA)
- Clear written communication in English
- Highly detail-oriented and reliable with deadlines
- Bonus: Experience with nonprofit/government workflows or data reporting
Hours & Pay:
- ~16–20 hours per month to start (most tasks are due monthly, but can be done within a week if efficient)
- Part-time or gig-based (can grow over time)
- Flexible work hours, just meet agreed-upon deadlines
