Virtual Assistant with Civil/Structural Engineering Background

We are seeking a Virtual Assistant who is also a Civil/Structural Engineer to support our permitting and engineering documentation needs for impact windows and doors installation projects.

???? Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare permitting plans for impact windows and doors.
• Conduct design pressure (DP) calculations and provide structural load analysis.
• Create and design custom mullions and other structural details as needed.
• Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimations.
• Review and ensure compliance with building codes and permit requirements in Florida.
• Draft and review structural drawings (AutoCAD or similar).
• Provide structural analysis reports.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and permitting offices for submission and revisions.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and assist with project scheduling.
• Support with other engineering-related tasks as assigned (e.g., shop drawings, specifications, site condition reviews if applicable).

???? Tools & Software:
• AutoCAD / Revit – drafting and drawing preparation.
• SAP2000 / ETABS / STAAD.Pro – structural analysis and load calculations.
• MS Excel / Google Sheets – BOQ, material take-off, and estimation.
• Bluebeam / Adobe Acrobat – markup, review, and permitting documentation.
• Project Management tools (e.g., Trello, Asana, or similar).

? Qualifications:
• Licensed Civil or Structural Engineer (or equivalent experience).
• Strong knowledge of structural design principles and building codes (U.S. codes preferred, especially Florida Building Code and local permitting requirements).
• Experience with impact window and door projects is highly desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
