JOB OVERVIEW

I am looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant with at least 4-5 years of Australian Accounting and manufacturing business experience.

This role involves managing and overseeing day-to-day financial transactions, supporting monthly-end and year-end reporting, and ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for a Water Control Solution company.

The accountant will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial accuracy and deliver insights that inform strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities
Review and assist with payroll systems, and assist the Senior Accountant with reconciliation or ad-hoc reporting.
Prepare and review general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal adjustments.
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely invoicing and payments.
Coordinate and execute month-end and year-end close activities, including financial statement preparation.
Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities; provide variance analyses.
Ensure compliance with IFRS, income tax laws, GST/VAT, and other relevant legislation.
Support audit processes by providing schedules, analyses, and documentation.
Liaise with external advisors, including auditors, tax agents, and financial institutions.
Identify process improvement opportunities within the finance function.

Qualifications and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field.
CPA student or qualified CPA
Demonstrated continuing professional development in accounting standards and taxation is preferred

Skills and Competencies:

Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Epicor, Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
Knowledge and experience in AU payroll processes
Strong analytical skills with an eye for accuracy and detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
Sound understanding of Australian taxation laws, payroll, and superannuation requirements.
Collaborative mindset with stakeholder management capabilities.

Experience and Qualifications:

4-5 years of post-graduation experience in an industry accounting or audit role.
Experience working with Australian, Singapore, UK or New Zealand clients within a commercial accounting role in the manufacturing industry is recommended.
Proven track record of managing full-cycle accounting processes.
Exposure to audit engagements and financial reporting under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
