ISO 9001 and 14001 Implementation Specialist Needed

UK-based recycling brokerage specialising in the nationwide collection and processing of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and other recyclable materials. We coordinate collections for business clients using third-party hauliers and deliver material to certified recycling facilities. Our goal is to operate to the highest standards of quality and environmental responsibility while remaining fully aligned with UK WEEE directives.

Project Overview
We need an experienced ISO consultant to design and implement a complete Integrated Management System (IMS) covering ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management). We are starting from scratch—no formal management systems are in place—and require full support through to successful certification with a UKAS-accredited body.

Scope of Work
Carry out a detailed gap analysis and initial needs assessment.
Develop all required documentation: policies, procedures, manuals, risk assessments, and records for both QMS and EMS.
Advise on legal and regulatory compliance, including UK WEEE regulations and other relevant environmental obligations.
Create and help implement processes for internal audits, management review, and continual improvement.
Prepare and support us through the external certification audit.

What We’re Looking For
Proven experience implementing ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 as an integrated system for small or single-operator businesses.
Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and WEEE directives.
Ability to work independently and produce clear, user-friendly documentation and training for a very small team.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.

Engagement Details
Flexible freelance/contract arrangement; remote work is fine, with occasional UK site visits if needed.
Certification will be pursued through a UKAS-accredited body.
