Medical Reviewer – Medico-Legal Consultant

We are recruiting for a Medical Reviewer to join our medico-legal consulting team.

About Us
Our practice focuses on medico-legal consulting related to civil litigation files. The team currently consists of:

-1 physician (founder)
-3 lawyers
-Several assistants supporting ongoing casework

Role & Responsibilities
-The Medical Reviewer will assist in bridging medical knowledge with legal analysis by:
-Reviewing medical charts and imaging
-summarizing key events and concepts
-Developing timelines of medical history and treatment and applying theories of causation
-Explaining medical concepts clearly to lawyers, and instructing lawyers on how to explain medical concepts to judges and juries
-Drafting questions for legal counsel in preparation for witness examinations
-Identifying, sourcing, and preparing visual aids to support questioning or court submissions
-Preparing questions and requests for expert witness reports
-Assisting counsel with medical causation questions through research and citation of primary medical literature and in particular review articles

Candidate Profile
-Clinical background or strong familiarity with medical practice and terminology
-Excellent analytical and writing skills
-Ability to work independently and manage multiple files simultaneously
-Strong communication skills, particularly in explaining complex medical information in plain language for legal audiences

Important Note
While AI tools can provide assistance, clinical judgment and real-world medical knowledge are essential. Candidates who rely extensively on AI without the ability to independently interpret medical records and literature tend to struggle in this role.
