DME Biller

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Biller to join our growing healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DME billing and collections, with proven experience managing claims across multiple payers including Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and private pay. This role requires excellent attention to detail, knowledge of billing guidelines, and the ability to resolve claim denials efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and submit DME claims to multiple payers accurately and timely.
Verify patient eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements for DME services.
Post payments, reconcile accounts, and follow up on outstanding balances.
Research and resolve claim rejections and denials, submitting appeals as needed.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer guidelines, coverage criteria, and compliance requirements.
Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance representatives to resolve billing issues.
Generate aging reports and assist with revenue cycle management processes.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies.

Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in DME billing or healthcare billing with DME knowledge.
Proven experience with billing and collections for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
Strong understanding of HCPCS, CPT, and ICD-10 coding for DME services.
Proficiency with billing software, EMR systems, and clearinghouses.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills
Experience with Axxess, NikoHealth, or other DME billing platforms.
Knowledge of payer-specific authorization processes for DME.
Familiarity with denial management and appeals processes.
