Node.js Developer for Custom Airtable Integrations

We’re looking for a developer to help us build custom coded features that integrate with Airtable.

Our Tech Stack
• Frontend: Softr
• Backend: Airtable
• Custom Backend: Node.js features hosted on Railway

Our custom backend extends Airtable’s functionality by handling tasks Airtable can’t manage efficiently, such as:
1. Complex calculations
2. Report generation
3. Advanced data processing (e.g., parsing PDFs into Airtable records)

We already have multiple ideas lined up, so while this begins as a project-based role, there’s strong potential for long-term collaboration.

First Project: Zefix (Swiss Company Register) Integration

The first task is to integrate the Swiss national database of companies (Zefix Public REST API) with our Airtable/Softr environment.

The integration should work as follows:
1. Autocomplete search: As the user types the first few letters of a company name (e.g., “Airt”), the system fetches matching Swiss-registered companies from Zefix.
2. Company details: Selecting a company displays its available details from the Zefix database.
3. Record creation: A “Create Company” button allows the user to generate a new Airtable record in our Companies table, automatically filling in fields like address and other details from Zefix.

If this project goes well, we’d like to continue working together on further backend features and advanced automations.
