Job Title: Virtual Assistant – Scholarship & Grant Applications
About Me: I’m a busy professional seeking a detail-oriented, resourceful, and organized VA to help me and my family secure scholarships for college. I need someone who can not only research opportunities but also fully complete the application process from start to finish.
Responsibilities:
1. Research scholarships and grants based on student profile submitted by employer (e.g., age, GPA, intended field of study, location, demographics, special interests, etc.)
2. Create a Google Sheets tracking document that outlines scholarship opportunities, application details, and tracking of what is needed, when submitted, deadlines, and decision dates.
3. Utilize Google Drive to keep track of documents and to download a copy of applications submitted.
4. Review scholarship eligibility requirements and provide summaries for each opportunity in a Google Sheets document.
5. Request from employer all required supporting documents (transcripts, recommendation letters, essays, etc.). Make sure the spreadsheet tracks the outstanding requests to employer and receipt dates of what was needed.
6. If the application requires an essay, I will provide the essay content — your role will be to insert it into the application and ensure proper formatting.
7. Fully complete scholarship application forms with provided information, making absolute sure NOT to apply to scholarships that do not meet the student's eligibility criteria.
8. Update the Google Worksheet to show what scholarship was applied for, the login, password, and any other relevant information needed to the applicant to log in and check on the status.
9. Track deadlines and ensure all applications are submitted on time.
10. Keep a detailed record of applications submitted and statuses in Google Sheet file.
Qualifications:
1. Strong research skills with proven experience in finding U.S.-based scholarships and grants
2. Familiarity with college or scholarship application processes
3. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in form completion
4. Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) and basic file management
5. Ability to follow instructions carefully and maintain confidentiality of personal information
6. (Bonus) Prior experience assisting students with scholarship or grant applications
Work Hours & Pay:
* Part-time, project-based (estimated 10 hours/week)
* Flexible schedule — as long as deadlines are met
* Pay range: $6 – $9/hour USD (depending on experience)
