Senior Magento Developer (Performance & SEO Specialist)

Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Magento Developer with deep expertise in performance optimization, SEO best practices, and analytics. This role goes beyond development — we want someone who can make our Magento stores run lightning-fast, hit near-perfect performance scores, and dominate search visibility.
The ideal candidate will not only be a skilled Magento developer but also a data-driven problem solver who can leverage Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMrush, and other tools to enhance the overall health, speed, and visibility of our sites.
Responsibilities:
Develop, customize, and maintain Magento 2 websites (version 2.4.7 or higher).
Optimize website performance — achieve near-perfect Google Lighthouse / Core Web Vitals scores (performance, accessibility, SEO, best practices).
Implement speed optimizations (code refactoring, image compression, lazy loading, caching strategies, CDN integration).
Conduct SEO audits and resolve technical SEO issues (structured data, sitemaps, indexing, canonicalization).
Configure and monitor: Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Google Merchant Center, Google My Business and SEMrush to track and improve site health and rankings.
Work closely with design and marketing teams to ensure pages are fast, mobile-friendly, and optimized for conversions.
Debug, troubleshoot, and proactively monitor site performance and uptime.
Ensure code quality, scalability, and security best practices are followed.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Magento Developer with extensive hands-on expertise in Magento 2.4.7+ architecture.
Strong knowledge of SEO principles, technical SEO, and site performance optimization.
Proficiency with Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Google Merchant Center, Google My Business and SEMrush, PageSpeed Insights, GT Metrix and other performance monitoring tools.
Expertise in Core Web Vitals, caching strategies, and performance tuning techniques.
Strong coding skills — PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
Ability to work EST time zone hours.
Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
Available to start immediately.

Experience with Hyvä theme development.

Compensation:
Salary is based on experience (DOE).
