Friendi.fi’s mission is simple but powerful: to ensure that everyone has at least one healthy relationship. As a Conversational Moderator (CM), you’ll play a key role in achieving this by engaging with older adults and autistic young adults on our web-based platform. Your goal is to provide companionship, build trust, and foster meaningful connection — all while ensuring the safety and quality of our conversations.

Position Overview

You will role-play as a variety of personas designed to be effective in consumer, business, and healthcare settings. You’ll exercise a high level of empathy, fast and accurate typing, excellent judgment, and U.S. cultural fluency across diverse demographics, including LGBTQ+ and minority ethnic populations.

You must be comfortable having ongoing, meaningful text-based conversations with people from a wide range of backgrounds and interests. In this role, you are essentially messaging people — making conversations feel natural, engaging, and supportive.

Attention to detail and speed are critical. You will be responsible for reviewing AI-generated messages in real time, quickly approving or rewriting them to ensure they are safe, coherent, and high-quality. This requires strong critical thinking skills, the ability to spot inappropriate or low-quality messages, and excellent conversational instincts.

You will also attend recurring video call meetings with your supervisor and peer team, collaborate to ensure reliable service, and participate in an on-call rotation (with compensation when called).

This is intended to be a long-term role, with opportunities for career advancement and the daily reward of knowing you are contributing to the health and well-being of others — while training AI technology that has the potential to positively impact millions more lives.

Requirements

Preferred but not required: Lived in the United States for a meaningful period (e.g., multiple months/years) and be well-versed in American culture, slang, humor, and social norms.
Comfortable having natural, supportive, and engaging conversations with people via messaging.
Excellent judgment: can quickly tell when a message is inappropriate, unclear, or off-tone — and rewrite it effectively.
Provide a minimum of 3 professional references, including at least 1 current or former direct supervisor/manager.
Pass a criminal background check.
Configure required security settings on your work computer.
Worked hours and screenshots tracked using company-approved software.
Payment via Payoneer.

Dungeons & Dragons or other table-top role-playing games that involve spontaneously acting like your character
Writing fiction, e.g. novels or screenplays involving character dialogue (content creation)

Sending 10+ text messages/day to each of 10+ friends or partners/dates (100+ messages on a typical day)
