Part-Time Video Editor (Contract)

Role summary:
Edit short-form and property highlight videos for social and web. Initial focus on fast, clean edits with on-brand captions and simple motion work. Starts at 10 hours/month, with scope to increase quickly based on demand and performance.

Key responsibilities:
-Cut, sequence, and polish short-form videos (reels/shorts: 15–60s) and property highlight edits (1–3 mins).
-Apply speed ramping, tracking, and masking to elevate shots (real-estate style and dynamic edits).
-Add dynamic, on-brand captions and lower thirds.
-Basic colour correction (all footage will be slog4) and audio clean-up.
-Export to platform-ready specs and manage versioning/file naming.
-Hit agreed turnaround times (typically 24–72 hrs depending on scope).

Must-have skills:
-Proven speed ramping, tracking, and masking in real-estate or similar fast-cut contexts.
-Dynamic captions (caption styles, timing, legibility for mobile).
-Strong sense of pacing, music sync, and hook-first editing.
-Colour and audio fundamentals; attention to detail.

REQUIRED tools:
-DaVinci Resolve
-Adobe Premiere Pro
-(Nice to have) After Effects for simple motion/graphics templates.

Work Set Up:
-Remote, async collaboration; assets via Drive/Dropbox; comms via Slack/Email; tasking via ClickUp (or client preference).
-Clear briefs with footage, music, brand guidelines, and reference edits supplied.
-Editor provides cut previews, revisions, and final exports to spec.

Hours & engagement:
-Contract/part-time: minimum 10 hrs/month to start, with opportunity to scale hours quickly.
-Flexible schedule provided deadlines are met; availability for occasional quick turns.

Success measures:
-On-time delivery, consistent brand look/feel, crisp captions, and smooth camera/motion work.
-Positive stakeholder feedback and improving edit throughput without quality drop.
