I am Isaac Blount — also known as The Entrepreneurship Doctor. Through my nonprofit, Redirection CDC, and brand initiatives like Dream District and Entrepreneurship Rx™, I serve underserved communities, reentry citizens, youth, and entrepreneurs across North Carolina. Our work blends entrepreneurship education, workforce development, peer support, housing initiatives, and faith-based empowerment.

We are seeking a Grant Writer & Researcher to join our team and help us expand our funding capacity so we can continue to transform lives.

Responsibilities

Grant Research: Identify federal, state, local, corporate, and foundation funding opportunities that align with our mission and programs.

Grant Writing: Draft compelling proposals, letters of intent, and applications that clearly communicate program goals, needs, and impact.

Data & Evidence Gathering: Research community needs, statistics, and best practices to strengthen proposals (r ---------- , poverty rates, workforce outcomes, etc.).

Editing & Proofing: Review existing applications and polish them for clarity, accuracy, and persuasiveness.

Grant Calendar Management: Track deadlines, submission requirements, and reporting timelines.

Collaboration: Work with leadership to gather program details, budgets, and deliverables to support strong proposals.

? Requirements

Proven experience as a grant writer (portfolio of funded proposals preferred).

Strong research skills (data sourcing, needs assessment, program alignment).

Excellent writing and editing skills — able to write in clear, persuasive, and professional tone.

Understanding of nonprofit sector and preferably experience in workforce development, reentry, youth programs, or entrepreneurship education.

Familiarity with federal grants (GCC, SAMHSA, DOJ), foundations, and corporate giving is a plus.

Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple applications at once.
