We're Cottage Care, a $1-2M general contracting powerhouse in Michigan and Texas, specializing in residential, commercial, apartments, municipalities, MDOT/TexDOT projects, parks & recs, and public works. We're subbing out deals to scale to $100M-$1B in 3-5 years—your role is pivotal as our first VA to build the foundation and team. You'll handle legwork so our founder focuses on ground ops and estimators close deals. This is a full-time (40 hours/week), remote role starting at $5-7/hour (based on experience), with bonuses for hitting milestones (e.g., first 5 subs sourced, 10 meetings booked). U.S. time zone alignment required (evenings PH time).
Key Responsibilities:
Team Building: Source, screen, and help hire 4-10 more VAs (via OnlineJobs.ph/Upwork) and 5-10 U.S. hires in MI/TX (e.g., estimators, project managers via Indeed/LinkedIn). Manage onboarding docs.
Marketing & Lead Gen (All Channels): Mix of cold calling (100+ calls/week to MDOT/TexDOT contacts, municipalities),
Subcontractor Sourcing: Build/maintain comprehensive lists of 500+ subs in TX/MI (excavation, plumbing, electrical, etc.) via directories (e.g., ABC, Dodge Data). Vet, contact, and qualify for our pipeline.
Deal Pipeline: Set up 20+ meetings/month for project estimator/founder (via Calendly/Zoom). Research bids (e.g., SAM.gov for gov contracts), prep docs, follow up.
Business Setup Support: Assist with DBA filing (Wenzel Construction under Cottage Care), licenses (MI/TX contractor bonds), docs (NDAs, sub agreements), and compliance (e.g., OSHA for subs).
General Ops:
What We're Looking For:
3+ years VA experience, ideally in construction/real estate (e.g., bid management, supplier coordination).
Proven cold calling/sales skills (U.S. accent bonus; share call samples).
Strong research/hiring experience (e.g., built teams remotely).
Tools: Google Workspace, Zoom, CRM basics; fast learner for construction software (e.g., Procore).
Traits: Proactive, confidential, results-driven—think "CEO's right hand." PH-based, reliable internet.
