IT Operations Support Specialist

We are looking for someone with a passion for IT to assist our Technical Director in managing and supporting the software ecosystem we’ve created for our products.

Key Details:

- Full-time, permanent role (not contract)
- 40 hours/week | Mon–Fri | 9 AM to 5 PM (Central Standard Time)
- 100% Work from home
- Software coding skills not required (but Python knowledge is a plus)

Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Windows 10 or 11
- Modern PC with Windows OS and a reliable internet connection
- English Communication Skills (spoken and written)
- Strong logical thinking, troubleshooting, and attention to detail
- Positive, can-do attitude

Preferred Experience:
- IT Helpdesk or technical customer support background
- Basic knowledge of Python (ability to write simple scripts, troubleshoot, or automate tasks)

Certifications (Not Required, but a Plus):
- CompTIA A+ / Network+, Microsoft, Google IT Support, or similar.

About the Role

At Vigilant Software (Dallas, Texas, USA), we develop and customize software for thermal printers deployed in hospitals. Each printer configuration is tailored for specific hospital locations.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Using our browser-based platforms to create and configure software loads for new printers before shipping
- Updating printers already in use based on customer requests
- Performing general IT-related tasks to support our operations
- Using Python (where applicable) to assist with automation, testing, or simple troubleshooting tasks

This is a critical role within Vigilant. The work you do directly impacts patient safety: our printers save hospital staff valuable time, improve accuracy in medication delivery, and reduce risks of medication errors and hospital-acquired infections—both costly for hospitals and potentially devastating for patients.
