Key Responsibilities

Content & Strategy
– Develop and execute a cross-platform social media strategy tailored to news and military content.
– Create and publish short-form videos, graphics, and posts optimized for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and other platforms.
– Manage a content calendar, aligning posts with editorial priorities and breaking news.
– Ensure consistency with SOFREP’s voice, values, and audience interests.

Growth & Engagement
– Expand reach and engagement on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and other channels.
– Actively engage with followers—comments, DMs, shares, and community conversations.
– Spot and leverage breaking news, trends, and viral opportunities to boost visibility.
– Foster and grow military-focused online communities.

Analytics & Reporting
– Monitor performance across platforms using TikTok Analytics, Meta Insights, Google Analytics, and similar tools.
– Deliver monthly reports with actionable, data-driven insights.
– Test and refine content formats, posting times, and strategies for maximum impact.

Bonus (Preferred)
– Support social media ad campaigns for subscriptions, affiliate programs, and sponsored content.

Requirements

– 2+ years of social media management experience (preferably in news, media, or military/defense).
– Strong knowledge of military culture, veteran communities, and defense news.
– Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills.
– Proficiency in scheduling and analytics tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, etc.).
– Skilled in Canva, CapCut, or Adobe for quick-turn video and graphics.
– Familiarity with paid campaigns (Facebook Ads, Twitter Ads) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

– Military experience or deep understanding of military culture.
– Background in journalism, communications, or digital media.
– Experience building and managing large online communities.

Why Join Us?

– Shape the social voice of a respected military media brand.
– Work remotely with a passionate, veteran-led team.
