Internet Marketing Specialist

We provide a range of services to values-driven individuals and organizations including: social venture business coaching, life path guidance and strategy, guided visioning and meditation, career transition action-planning, workshops & training. The main thing to understand is the integrative approaches: intuition integrated with concrete market strategy, spirit and heart integrated with structure and systems, doing good in the world integrated with doing well for yourself and your business.

We need a highly experienced and creative Wordpress developer to update our main website and then to build a series of microsites ranging from one page (for eBooks and linking sites) to 6-8 pages using flexi-templates. Strong skills with widgets, plug-ins, tables, calendars and video embedding essential, as are skills with autoresponders, email marketing and prospect database management. Also important is strategic experience with Google Adwords and Adsense, metatags, landing pages and conversions. Experience in basic video editing and Youtube channel management is welcome but not required. We are willing to provide training in some technical skill areas if we feel we have found the right person.

You must be a strong communicator in both spoken and written English, and be committed to finding solutions and delivering results. Perfect English is not required; strong English skills and honesty are what really matter to us. If you say you can DO something, that means you have done it before and absolutely know the methods. If you say you can TRY something, that means you are learning along the way. Mistakes are part of the process and will not get you into trouble as long as you talk to us about them and we work together to find solutions as soon as possible.

Your responsibilities:

- Collaborate with us to understand our business and what website user requirements will be
- Define scope of work and estimate project times and deliverables with reasonable (not perfect) accuracy
- Follow instructions specifically and thoroughly
- Ask questions and verify understanding about project needs and give examples to ensure clarity on both sides (eg. you might say to us, “You asked for video display with video on the left side of the screen and text explaining what the viewer is watching on the right. I think I should use a table to do that, but without any grid lines showing. Here is an example of a similar table from a website I found online. Is that what you want?”)
- Translate requirements into engaging design concepts and usable navigation in Wordpress
- Handle SEO for all sites and build links between them
- Update events pages in online calendar, event listing websites and online magazines each week
- Create Facebook Fanpage, do occasional updates in LinkedIn, learn to update Meetup accounts
- Create and manage email autoresponders when people sign up via landing pages (we’ll write content; you lay it out and set up email marketing)
- Manage email marketing database, dividing into sublists for different promotions
- Contribute suggestions or ideas to improve websites and marketing efforts
- Work with forms, surveys, video and audio as well as text and photo content, ensuring fast-loading and proper placement of elements onscreen
- Provide short daily progress reports and longer weekly progress reports on all projects

Preference will be given to candidates who have worked from home for a North American or British business for at least a year in the past.

Your qualifications:

- Primary skill: Expert WordPress Development
- Additional skills: HTML, CSS, SEO, Google Adwords/Adsense, Google Analytics, autoresponders, database management, email campaign management (we will write the content; you just need to copy/paste, format and set up automated sending)
- Strong understanding of visual design fundamentals, information design, user experience, typography and color
- Excellence in WordPress functionality, code, widgets, plug-ins, capacity and the ability to create complex navigation, forms, scrolling content, database information capture, etc.
- Experience with Paypal buttons, drop-down menus and shopping carts
- Competence with MS Office softwares
- Competence using Skype to communicate about work projects
- A work style that is extremely detail-oriented and communicates openly and enjoyment of learning new skills and solving problems
