Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and is accountable for accurate reporting of financial
results and managing the company’s financial affairs.
TYPICAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Finance Manager is responsible for the financial management of the organization. The
Financial Manager performs a wide range of responsibilities. These may include, but are not
limited to:
• Managing the financial reporting for the organization. This includes monthly financial
reporting, budgeting and forecasting, 5 year financial plans and all statutory financial
reporting
• Providing sound financial support and insights to enable the ELT to make critical
business decisions
• Presentation of financial results and insights to the Board
• Play a key role in the formulation of the business's strategy
• Managing and overseeing the taxation affairs of the organization and liaising with the
external tax firm for specialist advice
• Managing and overseeing the cash flow of the company and ensuring it has the
appropriate treasury controls
• Monitor and manage daily cash positions, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet
operational needs.
• Develop and implement cash flow forecasting models to support effective cash
management strategies.
• Identify opportunities to optimize cash flow, minimize idle cash, and maximize interest
income.
• Establish and maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions.
• Manage banking services, including account openings, closures, and changes.
• Negotiate pricing and terms for banking products and services, such as merchant
accounts and credit facilities.
• Identify and assess financial risks, such as foreign exchange, interest rate, and credit
risks.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies and execute hedging transactions when necessary.
• Monitor market trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance with risk
management guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports related to treasury activities.
• Maintain documentation and records to support compliance audits.
• Oversee the processing of cash transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and fund
transfers.
• Review and reconcile cash balances, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of
discrepancies.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline cash processes and improve
operational efficiency.
• Evaluate and implement treasury management systems to enhance automation and
efficiency.
• Provide support and training on treasury systems to end-users.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices in treasury
management.
• Prepare regular treasury reports, including cash flow statements, liquidity positions, and
key performance indicators.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
• Managing hedging and foreign currencies (if relevant)
• Managing the External Auditor relationship and ensuring the organization is compliant
with accounting standards
• Managing and overseeing the company's banking and borrowing arrangements
• Managing relationships with Investors (where applicable)
• Managing and overseeing the company’s financial systems
• Investment appraisal and analysis
• Presenting results to non-finance people to understand
• Recruitment, training, mentoring and development of staff
• Overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, Financial and
Management Accounting functions.
• Risk Management to ensure the business has a solid risk framework in place
• Overseeing commercial decision making from tender analysis, margin analysis, pricing
analysis etc.
• Advising and implementing best practice methods to increase revenue and reduce costs
• Advising on market changes and providing strategic financial recommendations to the
ELT
• Managing and tracking budget and accounting information including billing, collections,
and tax information
• Reviewing all formal finance, HR, and IT related policies and procedures
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

• 5+ years' experience in a senior financial managerial position with a proven record of
success

• Professional accounting qualification such as CA or CPA
